James River Writers continues to grow, with new and existing programs and partnerships allowing us to reach an ever-wider audience. Through our annual Literary Conference, Virginia Arts & Letters Live, monthly Poetry Slam and Writing Show, our Web site and e-newsletter, and partnerships with area literacy programs, JRW is helping to increase Richmond's visiblity within the region and nationally as a city with a vibrant literary arts community.

We seek to continue to seed and develop literary events and literacy education in Richmond, partnering with the city’s universities, businesses, and cultural institutions. With a contributing board of twenty-five and a paid administrative director and permanent office, we plan and execute all of our events carefully and with an eye towards civic responsibility, longevity, and growth.

Your tax-deductible donation will help JRW's mission to promote the craft of writing and the love of literature in our community and beyond and to support Richmond's growing standing as one of the nation’s most attractive and culturally progressive communities in which to live and work.
